ASX-listed small-cap RPM Global has been working closely with a giant of the international IT industry, Germany’s SAP, for several years as both companies try to deepen their exposure to a more digital-savvy mining sector. At next week’s MINExpo event in Las Vegas, they claim to be presenting a “true digital mine of the future” vision.
RPM (ASX: RUL) has also been collaborating with US-based Modular Mining Systems, and France’s Schneider Electric (FP: SU), and the four companies will give MINExpo visitors glimpses at their collective, integrated view of the future of mine planning and execution via a live demonstration centre.
RPM chief marketing officer Michael Baldwin says the centre will enable visitors to “immerse themselves into the digital mine and truly experience what is on the horizon for the industry”.
“We wanted to create the same experience our users have with our software anywhere, anytime. What our solutions offer is true end-to-end collaboration built on industry standards, all within a live planning environment,” he said.
“We are genuinely excited about what we are bringing to the mining industry. We want miners to be able to fully immerse themselves in our live planning and scheduling environment using virtual reality to experience the next generation of mining for themselves.”
